Happy Birthday!

To my darling daughter, who celebrates birthday number five today:

Happy Birthday, big girl!

She had a fabulous day today, starting off with announcing to me first thing this morning: "I'm five now."  She said it feels good, for those of you wondering, and was quite excited when I wished her a happy birthday.

I had to work at the office today, but it was a short day for me, thankfully.  I missed everything up until after her nap, but she told me she had a wonderful day, so I can only assume she did.  She noticed the Melissa & Doug birthday cupcakes (which had Happy Birthday written on them with the "icing") right away and dragged Daddy out of bed for him to see them.  She also requested tonight that we safely store these cupcakes (wooden play cupcakes) so that no thief comes to take them.  Apparently there has been a rash of cupcake burglaries lately.

Daddy took her to Chuck E Cheese's for play time and lunch today.  She was excited to find she had just enough tickets for pink cotton candy, which she says tastes like strawberries and sugar for those of you wondering. She was not afraid of Chuck E this time, though she did not give him a high five as she's been promising for two years now.

She barely made it home from the house of ROUS awake and took a pretty decent nap.  When she woke up, I was already home and we were able to open presents.  As parents, we fail in the present category for birthdays since we always wait until she opens gifts from everyone else before getting her anything, but we DO take her to Toys R Us and allow her to select a toy within reason.  She was quite excited by her other presents to make up for it, though ("Oh, this is what I dreamed of getting!" and "Oh, this is what I always wanted!").  I have never loved watching any child open gifts as much as my little girl because she's positively appreciative of everything she receives. It's just adorable!

It took her some time, but she finally decided we were going to Cheesecake Factory for dinner.  She ordered the corn dogs and instead of fries requested fruit.  She managed to get two small bowls of fruit somehow instead of just one, which just tickled her to no end.  She also requested strawberry cheesecake, and when they brought it out, they had the plate decorated with her name, a candle in the cake, and a whole crew of people to sing happy birthday.  She was absolutely beaming!

All in all, I have to say this was a pretty good birthday for her.  I have to admit, it was a pretty good day for me, too.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day is fast approaching, less than two weeks away!  Visit the Scentsy Buddy page and have the little ones color a picture for Mom!

I will be able to spend this Mother's Day with my fabulous five-year-old.  We have no plans as of yet, but I see possibilities of shopping, park visiting, and dining out for that day.

How will you be spending Mother's Day?

Sneak Peek...

Next month's warmer and scent have arrived and I have to admit I put a cube of the scent into my warmer as soon as I smelled it.  This has to be one of my favorite scents yet.  I can't wait to share it!

Comment here if you're interested in a sample, because I'm about to start making up a whole bunch of them.  My house is going to smell great!

Love, Life, Hope

One of my favorite charitable causes Scentsy has ever done was last season's.  They were able to present the National Breast Cancer Foundation with a check for over $600,000 raised from the sale of the Love, Life, Hope warmer.  I absolutely love the fact they were able to do this.  Thank you, Scentsy, for caring.  :)

Testing...

Not quite sure how a scent will smell when it's being warmed?  Ask me for samples! I can make a sample of nearly any scent and am more than happy to send them to nearby or far away places.

Want more than just a sample or two?  If you're interested in hosting a basket party, I'll send testers of all the scents in the catalog as well as a Travel Tin, Room Spray, Scent Circle, Scent Pak, Fragrance Foam, Scentsy Bar, and Plug-In.  I love to shop online for things I've already touched or used, and these baskets of samples make it so much easier.  Sniff to your heart's content and touch the product before placing an order.  Besides, basket parties can earn you free and half price product!  I personally LOVE free!

Remember to ask about my current specials.  I always have one!  :)

The first drawing!

I had my first drawing today. I've had a small display at the NRH Dream Dinners location for about a month or so now. While there weren't many names in the box (I think I need a bigger or LOUDER sign), we were still able to draw for some great prizes!

The first name drawn won the warmer of the month and a bar of the scent of the Month for March, Dotty and Jumpin' Jelly Bean. The second and third drawings will receive a scent circle and bar of their choice, respectively.

I'm so excited! I love sharing Scentsy with people. Next month's drawing will be for May's warmer and scent of the month. If you're in the DFW area, feel free to stop by and fill out a form. No purchase necessary!!

Bring Back My Bar

BBMB is back! Voting opened today for Bring Back My Bar. Go vote often for your favorite retired scents to make a comeback during the month of July. This is my favorite time of year, partly because I love to see what people are voting for but also because I get to try a whole new world of scents.

My personal favorites are Leather, Vanilla Oak, and Blackberry Bushel out of the ones I've smelled, though there are many in the list that we love. I would love to see Flower Shop, Berries and Bubbly, Banana Nut Bread, Carrot Cake, and many others make the list as well. Check out the entire list of candidates here.

Tell your friends and family. Bring back the scents you all love!

April Warmer and Scent of the Month

Baby's Breath is one of my absolute favorite warmers. There is a little notch in the bottom of the dish and the top of the base that makes it easy to place the flowers. The inside of the dish is glazed, but the rest of the warmer is left unglazed for a soft spring welcome.

Flutter is one of my new favorite scents. It's soft and simple and even a little sweet. I love to use it in the office since it's not too strong and is perfect for smaller spaces.

"Drift to sleep as the subtle perfume of a moonlit spring garden flutters through an open window. Delicate orange blossoms and whipped almond cream float above a bed of bright lemon verbena, creating a dreamy fragrance, like a sweetheart’s whisper in the night."

Remember, both the warmer and scent of the month are 10% off the entire month!
