where to buy...

The title makes this sound random, but I don't think it will be.  I've been meaning to make a post about this for a while, but haven't had time.  I don't really have time right now, but I'm pretty frustrated by some of the things I saw today.

I will browse items on eBay from time to time.  I don't think it's a bad place to shop.  I even shop for my business supplies there.  I will do searches on Scentsy and be amazed by the amount of product available.  I know a lot of people selling are not actual consultants (it's against our rules) but because of the amount of new product it looks like consultants are supplying product.  Of course, this raises the prices and the customer winds up getting the seriously short end of the stick.

I actually saw a warmer (granted, it was discontinued) listed for over $100!  Our full size warmers are typically $30 unless they're a licensed/charitable cause warmer ($5 extra for those) or on sale (much less than $30 at that point).  I can see paying more for a discontinued warmer, but let the auction determine that cost.  I also see listings for light bulbs ($1 each, but many consultants provide free light bulbs for their customers) starting at $2 each.  Of course, add in the amount of shipping costs and it makes it even worse.  I can't believe the prices some people charge!

In any case, if you're looking for something that has been discontinued, let your consultant know.  We would all love the chance to try and I can't imagine anyone would be interested in hiking prices and hurting potential customers.  If you're looking for something in the catalog, check our websites and make sure you're not paying more by going through eBay.  Most of the warmers and bars sold on eBay are not really a good deal.  I can see it for discontinued items your consultant can't locate, but otherwise, I hate to see people getting ripped off.  Be careful out there!

  1. I think I need to clarify. I don't buy Scentsy on eBay. I buy supplies for Scentsy if I find it at a discount (catalogs, testers, display stands, etc.). I don't find buying actual Scentsy items on eBay an economical value for anyone. I don't think I made that clear in the post. Sorry for being so vague!
